Get Started In Apps

So, you’re thinking about getting into App marketing huh?

Great! There are, however a few things you need to take into consideration while you are on your App development journey.

Let’s start at the top.

No matter which app platform you are going start with, Apple or Android, you need to have a website. Your website gives your customers a place to  check out the latest news about your apps and ask questions and what not. It also tells Google and Apple that you are serious about being an app developer.

Do you have a domain name yet ? In other words, what are you going to call your website? Start thinking about it.

You’ll need a place to park your website (webhost) and you’ll need a way to build or design your website (WordPress).

Great, you’ve got all those things. Now here are some more points to ponder.

What is your app idea? What does it do? Who is most likely to use your app?

Start doing research on apps similar to yours.  Once you’ve decided to go ahead with your idea you’ll want to storyboard it. Figure out what you want to happen when your app user clicks here, there and anywhere else that is part of the app program.

Do you know what you want your app to look like?  What will that little app launch icon look like? What will they see next when they tap that little icon?

Will your app have sound effects or music? Where will you get the graphics and artwork made for it?

Are you going to be doing the programing of the app yourself? Probably not.  Where will you get a programmer or someone to do the graphics?

You are also going to need to sign up for an account with Google (Android) or Apple (or both). Will you sign up as an individual or as a company?

Do you have an EIN? An Employee Identification Number will be needed to sign up as a business  and to recieve affiliate earnings from other products you promote.  While you are at it, you might as well form a Limited Liability Company to have as an umbrella for all your company dealings.

Now that you have a business, you’d better get a P.O. Box, that is unless you have a business office address already.

Do you have a business bank account? Add that to your list.

OK, let’s say you have an app all ready to go. Do you have an idea about how you will describe your app in the Google Play store or on the Amazon website? Keep thinking.

How will you promote this app and make money from it?

You will want to sign up with Admob and make your own “channel” on Youtube, Metacafe, and any other video sharing website to feature your fabulous new app.

Oh yes, there’s more but what I’ve just outlined is certainly enough to get you thinking in the right direction.

In other articles I will try to elaborate on these kind of things or maybe even put together a complete A to Z course on implimenting your app kingdom.  Stay tuned!

(In case you didn’t already figure it out, I’ve place a number of links throughout this article that will take you to the App section of this website. Click and explore!)

Enjoy !
